Role Summary:

We’re looking for someone to join Teesside Hospice in our Facilities Team Department to assist with general administration tasks associated within the team responsible for looking after Health & Safety, Maintenance, Property and Equipment.

We’re looking for volunteers to provide valuable administrative support to our Facilities Team. This team plays a key role in managing and maintaining vital resources such as office spaces, meeting rooms, and assets.

As a Facilities Admin Assistant, you’ll be helping to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. The role can be busy at times, but it’s incredibly rewarding — you’ll be supporting a dedicated team that ensures we deliver the highest standard of care to people with terminal illnesses. Your contribution will help make sure local people receive the best possible care at the end of life.

Key Responsibilities

The role will include working with the Facilities team on different projects, including (but not limited to):

  • Assisting with the filing and data entry of new systems and processes
  • Input information gathered onto spreadsheets/databases and helping to produce reports
  • Supporting with the preparation for audit and regular checks
  • Updating and maintaining attendance records, rotas and data to our systems
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care

 

 

Personal Qualities:

  • Excellent communication skills and approachable manner
  • Ability to work in a busy environment and follow procedures
  • Excellent and efficient administration skills, with a high attention to detail
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Excel & Word
  • The ability to effectively plan, organise and prioritise workload

     

Training requirements:

As a Volunteer Administration Assistant, you will complete the following training:

  • Teesside Hospice mandatory training
  • Volunteer induction training
  • Any other training identified as appropriate to the role

Support and Supervision:

Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be the Facilities Team to support you in your role.

Communications:

The Facilities Team will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

You will be provided with a Teesside Hospice volunteer badge
