Helping Teesside Hospice to lay 500sqm of a temporary surface that will form an extension to the existing car park on the grassed area of the Hospice.

Thursday 18th September, 8:30am - 4:30pm

What You'll Do:

Volunteering alongside the volunteering team, Teesside Hospice staff and a corporate partner we will help to lay a temporary car park surface.

Why You'll Love It:
Teesside Hospice support around 3,000 people in Tees Valley, primarily in Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland. They help them make the most of every day, ensuring they receive the best possible care by creating experiences and memories that last a lifetime. How great to be able to support them with this day of volunteering!   All necessary PPE will be supplied and there is access to welfare facilities on site, along with food & drinks.   You will be part of a team, make new friends, volunteer outside in the great outdoors, give back to the community.
What You'll Learn:
Volunteering outside and within a team offers a variety of learning opportunities, including developing practical skills, enhancing well-being. Volunteers can learn new skills, connect with nature, and improve their mental and physical health.    You will learn more about Teesside Hospice.    Working with others in an outdoor setting can improve collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.    Volunteers may encounter unexpected challenges in outdoor environments, requiring them to think on their feet and develop problem-solving abilities.
What We're Looking For:
A committment to the day. This is a great opportunity so please only sign up if you are able to commit.    We will meet at 8:30am at the Student Life Building and make our way over to Teesside Hospice ready for a 9:00am start.    We will finish at 4pm and head back to campus, arriving around 4:30pm   The day will be active and physical so a level of fitness will be required.
