This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to give back to the community, gain experience supporting children and families, and be part of a fun, inclusive and safe welcoming Halloween event for all.

What You'll Do:

As a volunteer at our Halloween Event on Wednesday, 29th October 2025, in Middlesbrough, you’ll play an important role in making the event fun, inclusive, and welcoming for children and young people with SEND and their families.

Your tasks may include:

  • Setting up and decorating the venue with a fun Halloween theme.
  • Welcoming families as they arrive and helping them feel comfortable.
  • Supporting children during activities, such as Halloween crafts, sensory play, and games.
  • Handing out refreshments or assisting with small tasks to keep the event running smoothly.
  • Chatting with parents and carers to create a warm and supportive environment.
  • Tidying up and packing away at the end of the event.

You don’t need any previous experience — just a friendly attitude and willingness to help. Every role you take on, big or small, helps make the event a safe, fun, and memorable day for families.

Why You'll Love It:
Volunteering at our Halloween event is a chance to be part of something truly special! From helping families enjoy a safe and fun evening to seeing children’s faces light up in costumes, our volunteers create memories that last long after the night is over. You’ll meet new people, share in the excitement, and know that your time and energy made the celebration possible. Whether it’s welcoming guests, running spooky games, or adding to the festive spirit, you’ll leave with a big smile and the satisfaction of giving back to the community.
What You'll Learn:
By volunteering at our Halloween event, you’ll gain valuable experience in teamwork, event planning, and community engagement. From welcoming families and coordinating activities to problem-solving on the spot, you’ll build confidence, communication, and leadership skills in a fun, supportive environment. It’s also a great way to learn how large events are run behind the scenes, giving you transferable skills that look fantastic on a CV — all while making a positive difference in your community.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking volunteers who are passionate about making a real difference in their community and committed to supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We welcome those who bring empathy, compassion, and flexibility in their approach, as these qualities are at the heart of creating inclusive and supportive environments. By joining our team, you’ll play an important role in helping families feel valued and ensuring that every child has the chance to thrive.
