As part of celebrating Student Volunteering Week we are taking part in another 'The BIG Community DIG'
Volunteering with the Volunteering Team and Middlesbrough Envioronment City, we will help to transform allotments into thriving community spaces.
On the 11th February, we will meet at the Student Life Building at 08:45. The taxi will then arrive at 9:00am and take us to Middlesbrough Environment City, Sandy Flatts Lane (The old Nature World site). It will take about 15 minutes to get there.
Following a safety briefing and putting on PPE, we will take part in activities like: clearing overgrown areas, preparing beds for winter vegetables, weeding, reseeding pots, laying chippings.....digging!
We will help to transform the area to make this a thriving community space to help with sustainability and the environment.
Refreshments will be provided.
The taxi will then pick us up at 12:30 and we will return to campus, making it back for 1:00pm.
You will need to dress appropriately for this task, good footwear, layers, warm clothing.
There will be a short form to complete before the day. This will be sent to you.
PLEASE NOTE: If we do not get enough volunteers, this opportunity may be removed as a Do Good, Feel Good. We are only able to provide transport if we get at least 10 people sign up to ensure this is viable to run. The volunteering team will make sure you are contacted throughout regarding any changes. If the event needs to be cancelled because of extreme weather, the volunteering team will always aim to let you know as soon as possible.
