We are looking for volunteers to assist our newly refurbished Coffee Shop in providing a welcoming and pleasant environment for customers. This role requires someone with good communication and customer service skills.

What You'll Do: 

Volunteer Coffee Shop Assistant
 

Time Requirement: Flexible to suit you between the times of Monday to Friday 10.30am and 2.30pm

DBS Check needed? Yes

Age Requirements: 18 Plus

Role Summary: We are looking for volunteers to assist our newly refurbished Coffee Shop in providing a welcoming and pleasant environment for customers. This role requires someone with good communication and customer service skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide a high level of customer service to customers
  • Basic food preparation
  • Make tea and coffee
  • To ensure the tables and surrounding area are clean and tidy
  • To load and unload a dishwasher
  • Operate a till and balance the daily takings
  • To provide a prompt, pleasant and courteous service

  • Tact and sensitivity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work alone and as part of team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Polite and approachable
  • Professional approach

 

Training requirements:

As a Coffee Shop Volunteer you will complete the following training:

  • Teesside Hospice mandatory training
  • Volunteer induction training
  • Any other training identified as appropriate to the role

 

Support and supervision:

You will assisted by our Facilities team leaders who will ensure that you have all the  support you require to carry out the role.

 

Communications:

The Facilities team leaders will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

You will be provided with a Teesside Hospice volunteer badge
