Our Midnight Walk is back for 2026!

We’re looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to help make this a night to remember for our participants as they walk the 11km route between Redcar and Marske in the middle of the night.

What You'll Do: 

Location:  Between Redcar and Marske

Date: Saturday 14th March 2026

Time Requirement:  Approx. 4hrs depending on role allocated

DBS Check needed? No

Age Requirements: From 18 years old

 

Our Midnight Walk is back for 2026!

After raising an amazing £70,000 in 2025 with over 750 walkers, we’re ready to make this year’s walk even more impactful.

We’re looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to help make this a night to remember for our participants as they walk the 11km route between Redcar and Marske in the middle of the night.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

Registration Team

Greet participants, check them in, and hand out welcome packs, t-shirts & torches. Your friendly face will set the tone for a memorable night.

 

Route Marshals

Paired up with another volunteer you will ensure participants stay safe and on track by directing them along the route. You’ll be a vital point of contact, offering encouragement and assistance as needed.

 

Cheer Squad

Based in our Registration Area you will boost morale at our glitter station, wave off our participants when they leave and welcome them back as they return. Your energy and enthusiasm will keep spirits high!

 

Pack-up Crew

Once the event concludes, help us to take down decorations, pack-up equipment, and leave the venue spotless.

 

Skills and Qualities We’re Looking For:

  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A passion for supporting Teesside Hospice and your community
  • Ability to stay on your feet for extended periods, (for some roles)

Set Up and Take Down volunteers get the Festival off to a great start by putting artworks and signage around town and helping to prepare the venues. They ensure we tidy up afterwards and leave things as we found them.
