What You'll Do:

We are looking for qualified UK Athletic Run Leaders to operate our mental health friendly Run & Rant sessions over the Tees Valley area. These groups are capped at 12 runners each session and are open to all levels of fitness. The run leader will be in charge of his/her own routes but will follow session plans from manager each week. These are fluid and can be adapted to suit the runners you have in your group at any given time. The sessions are focused on getting together and getting moving so NO emphasis is made on speed or distance. The distance planned is never given at the beginning of a session so as not to overwhelm those who could think they are not capable. You must also have a tail walker volunteer at every session to ensure safeguarding.  You must be flexible and able to offer at least 1, 1 hour session a week. Time and day will be pre arranged with manager before starting but it must be one that will be operated every week. You must be able to give at least 12 months commitment (illness and holiday allowance incorporated) in order to aid with consistency of Red Balloons services. You should have experience with mental health illnesses or at least knowledge and an empathic, non judgemental approach to them.
