What You'll Do:

Samphire's Ex-Detainee project has been supporting Ex-detainees for over 10 years. We currently manage a peer support group for ex-detainees, run by ex-detainees, that meets fortnightly in Middlesbrough. Ex-detainees are migrants, whose lives have been affected by immigration detention. The UK is the only country in Europe that does not have a limit to immigration detention. Most of the group users are asylum seekers or failed asylum seekers. We are looking for 1-2 volunteers who would be able to come in once or twice a month and assist people with their conversational English - potentially - prepare some tasks, think of discussion topics, etc. We are happy to provide some resources and reimburse reasonable travel expenses. Please get in contact for more information by sending an email to indre@samphireproject.org.uk or completing the application form. We are looking forward to talking to you!
