The Therapeutic Care Team offer volunteer experiences across all South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust sites.

What You'll Do:

Our opportunities include:

Therapeutic Care Volunteers -

We are looking for caring, compassionate volunteers that will engage with patients to provide therapeutic support and interaction across various departments within the Trust.

Our volunteers offer a listening ear, provide comfort and support, reminisce about the past and engage in therapeutic activities to enhance patients expereinces.

As part of the therapeutic interaction, volunteers will encourage patients to be aware of their nutritional and hydration needs as well contributing to their wellbeing.

Volunteers also provide support and assistance to staff within the Trust whilst contributing to the overall patient experience.

We expect all volunteers to act as an ambassador for the Therapeutic Support Team and promote the service

The Therapeutic Care Volunteer roles that we currenlty have available are:

  • Meal time support Volunteers (providing support at meal times for patients and staff)
  • Runner Volunteers (providing support and general duties for department staff)
  • A&E Volunteers
  • Outpatient Department Volunteers (supporting patients to use the electronic check in systems)
  • Maternity Volunteers
  • Ward Based Support Volunteers (Please note: these opportunities are minimal at this time due to the Covid-19 Pandemic)
