Charity Arcade Project Volunteers

Charity Arcade Project - building arcade cabinets to raise money for local causes

What You'll Do:

The project will require people with a range of skills.

We are developing a project that involves building arcade cabinets.

The arcade cabinets will be fitted and programmed to play retro games with a coin mechanism to raise money for local causes.

We will need students that are interested in physically building cabinets, programming Raspberry Pi units and Jamma Boards.

Other aspects of the project will include developing relationships with local businesses to locate units, partnering with local charities to make money for local causes, advertising and marketing the project and managing finances.

We are looking for students with a wide variety of skills that could be beneficial to the project.

Why You'll Love It:
You can bridge your passion for gaming to supporting local causes.   It will showcase to employers how you have developed beyond your degree delivering a project that is enterprising, develops real skills and benefits the community.
What You'll Learn:
We want to establish this business as a social enterprise.   You will develop knowledge in creating a start-up business, working within a multi-disciplined team and develop an understanding of all areas of business including marketing, sales, finance and corporate social responsibility.   You will establish relationships with organisations that want to host the machines and bring in an income alongside partnerships with local charities benefitting local causes.
What We're Looking For:
Any students that are willing to dedicate a portion of their time to the success of the project.   You may bring or wish to develop your knowledge in areas such as marketing, finance and relationship management. We are happy to accomodate people who bring different skills such as videography, web development, recruitment and social media manegement.
