Family Time Volunteer Driver

Working in partnership with our staff team, volunteer drivers collect children to and from homes, placements, schools, nurseries and ensure they arrive in time their contact session.

What You'll Do:

Our Family Time volunteer drivers help family members to engage in the Family Time sessions by providing practical assistance in the form of transport to and from sessions.  Volunteers will maintain the safety of children attending the centre through safe transportation and supervision during this time.

Why You'll Love It:
You will be helping the children and their families who attend Family Time to have a positive experience of the service.  Helping them to have consistency, stability and safe transport to their sessions.
What You'll Learn:
Family Action volunteers tell us that volunteering with us can be challenging at times, but it is also very rewarding. Many of our Volunteers also report that volunteering has helped them with: Being part of a team and becoming a part of Family Action, a national charity with 150 years of experience supporting families. Support and guidance from project coordinator including 1-1 and group supervision Regular training and development opportunities Opportunity to improve future employment prospects, for example in Family Support or related areas Developing new skills; increased confidence and self-esteem Making a difference to the lives of people in your community. Mileage reimbursed in line with Family Action and HMRC guidelines All Family Action volunteers receive full training and access to ongoing supervision and support as long as they are in the role.
What We're Looking For:
There is no typical Family Action volunteer. We want our volunteers to be as diverse as the people we support. We need volunteers with a range of life experiences, skills and knowledge too. In return for giving your time and talents, you will receive quality training, ongoing support, and the reward of knowing that you are making a real difference.    This role will particularly suit volunteers who are: Empathetic, non-judgemental and good at listening Good at building positive, trusting relationships Passionate about improving outcomes for family members Are able to understand the complex challenges our families face Can demonstrate commitment, reliability and consistency Are able to keep accurate records Understanding of the need for confidentiality when working with vulnerable families Willing to abide by Family Action’s policies and procedures.    Requirements for the role Full driving licence (preferably without endorsements) Use of own car with business class insurance and valid MOT for vehicles over 3 years Be fit to drive
