As one of our trained Speak out Stay safe volunteers, you’ll help us protect a generation of children from abuse and neglect by visiting schools twice a month to give our age-appropriate Speak out Stay safe workshops. SUITABLE FOR WE MODULE

What You'll Do:

As part of our Speak Out, Stay Safe program as a volunteer you will attend Primary Schools within the Tees Valley area and deliver workshops to year 2 (6-7 year olds) & Year 5 and 6 Students (10 -11year olds). The minimum commitment is to sign up and deliver to 2 schools per month so in terms of hours this would be 6/8 hours per month that you need to commit to. The workshop has a pre-written script that you will follow and learn so that you can confidently deliver alongside another volunteer. The worshops are delivered by two volunteers who take it in turns to deliver each section between each other, so you will always be working alongside another volunteer.

Why You'll Love It:
The program aims to help children speak out if they are suffering from abuse and this is a very rewarding role. It will provide a wealth of experiance working with young children and valuable training on safeguarding which will help you if you want to work in Schools when you leave University. Volunteering for one of the biggest childrens charitys in the UK is extremely rewarding and each workshop you deliver will provide a sense of achievement in helping the NSPCC deliver on its stategy.
What You'll Learn:
You will complete online training modules that you can easily access through our volunteer protal these will include things such as safeguarding. You will deliver workshops to Primary school age children 6/7 & 9/11 year olds so this will enable you to gain great experiance of working with children.
