Volunteer Finance Assistant

What You'll Do: 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Volunteer to join an existing team for 1 day per week.
 

You will assist with the amalgamating, recording and preparing donations for banking.

Other duties include banking of donations, gift entry to our donor database and other associated duties as required.

 

You must be suited to working in a professional environment with an enjoyment for numbers and an eye for detail.

What You'll Learn: 
General Duties Working under the direction of the Finance Director and Financial Controller, undertaking all financial duties as required. Maintaining confidentiality at all times and complying with the Teesside Hospice policy on Information Governance, thus ensuring security in the management and use of information. Dealing with various financial queries from staff, volunteers and supporters. Maintaining and developing beneficial working relationships with other departments to further the organisations objectives. Amalgamating donations ready to be banked. Inputting financial data (invoices) in to the Sage Accounts programme ensuring accurate information is held at all times, all invoices should have POs if applicable and relevant approvals. Accurately recording supplier bank details in Sage and online banking. Reconciling supplier statements. Scanning and saving electronic copies of purchase invoices, ensuring all are present and correct. Working in accordance with Teesside Hospice financial procedures. Being aware of financial control procedures and confirming that they are being operated properly throughout the organisation. Reporting any identified weaknesses in financial control to the Financial Controller and Finance Director and taking a pro-active approach to action required to mitigate risk.
