Requirements: Level 3 in any relevant qualification
Aim: Our Wellbeing Centre at Teesside Hospice provides services for people who are living with long term and life-limiting conditions, including their families and carers. We offer care, support and advice daily from Monday to Friday to help improve wellbeing and confidence and through this to help people cope better with the changes happening in their lives.
Complementary Therapy Volunteers will:
Assist the lead complementary therapist in providing complementary therapy services across all service areas, Wellbeing Centre, In Patient Unit, and Community.
Providing a range of individualised complementary therapy to patients and carers
Deliver relaxation and visualisation therapy
Undertaking assessments of patients and carers across all services.
Complete relevant documentation such as contact communication.
To observe changes in the patient’s condition and feedback as required nurse in charge
To assist in the delivery and development of the complementary therapy service within the organisation
Undertake and deliver education activities and audit as appropriate
To assist with the development and implementation of complementary therapy policies, procedures and standards
Laundering and replenishing equipment, ensure adequate supplies for service delivery, maintaining appropriate stock levels of supplies.
To act as an ambassador for the palliative care team and promote the hospice service.
