Role Summary:

We’re looking for someone to join Teesside Hospice in our People Services Department to assist with general administration tasks associated within the team responsible for looking after our diverse workforce, including employees and volunteers.

We need people who bring energy, creativity and enthusiasm to our existing team so that behind the scenes we’re providing support in delivering the highest quality of care for people with terminal illnesses and ensuring that local people get the very best care at end of life.

 

Key Responsibilities

The role will include working with the People Services team on different projects, including (but not limited to):

  • Assisting with the filing and data entry of employment and volunteer data into the organisation’s database/s
  • Input information gathered onto spreadsheets/databases and helping to produce reports
  • Supporting with the preparation for, and attendance at, recruitment and training events
  • Supporting in the updating of staff/volunteer handbooks and newsletters
  • Updating employee holiday and sickness records
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care

 

 

Personal Qualities:

  • Excellent communication skills and approachable manner
  • Ability to work in a busy environment and follow procedures
  • Excellent and efficient administration skills, with a high attention to detail
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Excel & Word
  • The ability to effectively plan, organise and prioritise workload

     

Training requirements:

As a Volunteer Administration Assistant, you will complete the following training:

  • Teesside Hospice mandatory training
  • Volunteer induction training
  • Any other training identified as appropriate to the role

Support and Supervision:

Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be HR Staff to support you in your role.

Communications:

The People Services Team will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

You will be provided with a Teesside Hospice volunteer badge
