As a Volunteer Treasurer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of the branch. Your responsibilities will include:
- Financial Management: Looking after the charity's money by following NCT guidance and policies on spending.
- Email and Admin: Managing email correspondence and handling general administrative tasks related to finances.
- Budgeting Support: Helping volunteers create and manage budgets for their groups and activities.
- Monitoring and Reconciliation: Keeping a meticulous record of all income and spending, and monitoring for any discrepancies.
- Expense Processing: Efficiently processing volunteer expenses.
- Grant Tracking: Keeping accurate track of grant spending to ensure compliance.
- Reporting: Completing quarterly financial reports using NCT's simple online system.
- Team Collaboration: Speaking with other volunteers in your team to ensure financial clarity and support.
Please note: Quite often, our Treasurers step into teams where email accounts or electronic files haven't been tidied up for some time. We're looking for Treasurers who are happy to jump in, organise, and sort out what can sometimes be quite messy situations.
Time Commitment
This is a flexible role that can fit around your existing commitments and availability. The time you spend volunteering may vary depending on the number of activities you are supporting, but you could volunteer with as little as 2 hours per month. We're ideally looking for Treasurers who can commit for at least 6 months.
