This is a flexible role that can fit around your availability. You'll support local parents by leading one of our easy-to-set-up regular events, such as a Bumps & Babies group or a Walk and Talk, or by helping to organise a Nearly New Sale.

What You'll Do:

What you'll be doing:

  • Planning and leading one of our local activities or services to support parents.
  • Advertising your group or event via social media and other platforms.
  • Attracting and welcoming helpers for your activity.
  • Following NCT guidance to ensure all events are welcoming, inclusive, and safe.
  • Collecting and sharing information about the positive difference you make to parents.
  • Promoting NCT's values and vision in your local community.

Our Community Volunteers are:

  • Passionate about supporting parents.
  • Motivated and reliable.
  • Able to plan and organise a one-off event or regular group.
  • Welcoming to all parents and a good listener.

Time Commitment:

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments and availability. The time you'll spend volunteering will vary depending on the type and frequency of the activity you choose to run, with as little as 2 hours per month being an option. We're ideally looking for Community Volunteers who can commit for at least 3 months.

What you can expect from us:

  • A great volunteer experience where you can meet new people and develop skills.
  • Excellent support from experienced volunteers and our Volunteering Team.
  • Access to an online platform with all the tools, resources, and training you'll need.
  • Expenses paid in line with our expenses policy.
  • We champion equity, diversity, and inclusion through all that we do.
  • Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference to parents in your local community.
Why You'll Love It:
Are you passionate about supporting parents and building strong, welcoming communities? As a Community Volunteer for NCT, you'll be at the heart of our local efforts, helping to create vital spaces where parents can connect, share experiences, and access trusted information and support. You'll understand the unique needs of parents in your area and play a crucial role in improving their wellbeing. This is a flexible role that can fit around your availability. You'll have the opportunity to support local parents by leading one of our easy-to-set-up regular events, such as a Bumps & Babies group or a Walk and Talk, or by helping to organise one of our popular NCT Nearly New Sales.
