MMAC is affiliated to England Athletics. The Club provides opportunities for all athletes to discover and develop their talents. We are a community of like-minded individuals who support and encourage one another.
We are a Club where athletes often build strong and lasting friendships with people who share the same passion for the sport. Our athletes serve as role models, inspiring the next generation to embrace dedication, sportsmanship, and fair play.
MMAC is extremely proud that some of our former athletes went on to become Olympians, including most recently Richard Kilty (4x100m relay - Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024) and Chris Tomlinson (Long jump - Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012). Charlie Myers became the British Champion at Pole Vaulting in 2018 whilst still representing the Club. In 2023, Charlotte Kelsey (400m) represented GB at the U23 European Championships whilst representing the Club.
Middlesbrough Mandale Athletics Club (MMAC) welcomes athletes of all abilities, from the age of 8 years old upwards. As a member of the Club, you will have the opportunity to practice and develop in a range of events, including sprinting, middle distance running, endurance running, jumps and throws.
Our younger athletes follow a multi-event pathway, enabling them to discover their passion and strengths, before specialising in their chosen event(s) as they get older and more experienced. More senior athletes can nurture and develop their chosen specialism(s) participating in innovative training and coaching methods to achieve their personal goals.
Our Opportunities

Middlesbrough Mandale Athletics Club is looking for voluntary athletics coaches. No coaching experience or qualifications required, just an interest in and enthusiasm for coaching sport to young people.
