Our charity is dedicated to the improvement of children's literacy which it aims to achieve in the provision of reading support to disadvantaged children across the country. We partner with schools to develop whole-school reading cultures, train volunteers to provide one-to-one reading support, and work with corporate partners to raise donations. We are also keen to measure the impact we have upon the schools and children we work with through annual reports.
We want every child to read, and so we exist to change children's life stories through the joy of reading.
The National Literacy Trust reports that only 1 in 3 children enjoy reading, and that 1 in 10 children say they do not have a book of their own at home. We are determined to change these statistics and foster a strong whole-school reading culture, significantly imporving reading attainment and transforming educational outcomes.
By supporting early reading, we're not just teaching children to decode words, we're also empowering them to shape their own future and working to reduce the long-term inequalities that come from low literacy levels.
A genuine enthusiasm for reading! Our reading programmes are designed to improve both enjoyment and confidence in reading and so we want the sessions to be fun and engaging!
Our Opportunities
